Welcome to the D.E.C.I.D.E. Research Lab
At the Dementia Experiences & Culturally Inclusive Decisions for Eldercare Research Lab, we focus on creating culturally tailored decision-making programs to improve the quality of life of families of Black American persons with changes in their thinking. These changes may be described as forgetfulness, memory loss, or dementia. These programs are created by gaining information from Black American persons living with changes in their thinking, their family care partners, and healthcare professionals who serve these families. Information is mainly gathered through surveys and interviews. In addition, we partner with community members and key stakeholders through our community advisory board to co-create and refine our decision-making programs.
